Door Switch Not Working

When unlocking the car and opening the rear drivers side door we've noticed that the car doesn't register that the door has opened. The red light on the dashboard doesn't come on unless you press/de-press the button next to the door catch a few times.

Before I start un-!Removed! things can the switch simply be removed and changed?

Just unscrew it Matthew, clean under the switch and put it back. They often do it.

If that doesn't work a new one is £10 from toyboata. (+ £40 fitting if you're crazy enough to pay it!)
