Windscreen Sensor Popped ?

Hi

I noticed something running down the windscreen, a few weeks ago and thought it was glass cleaner residue or something.

But, when cleaning the widscreen from the outside it looks like the sensor near the rear view mirror has popped/exploded as there is a multi coloured chemical looking stuff all round the square sensor box.

Anyone had this before ? I am not sure if it is the auto headlight sensor or something to do with the auto wipers.

I think its for the auto wipers. Do they still work?

Yup! Sounds like the auto wiper sensor.

I have had liquid leaking from that sensor area the whole time i had the car. I simply ignored it as everything was working fine.

I use to think it was simply lubrication that leaked from hot weather...
