How Much?

Well if you are like me and know pretty much nowt about everything with cars but want to do lots, then ask away here.

If I wanted to get my wheel rims or trims? They are solid through and through? painted, how much would you expect to pay? I ask because I don't know and frankly everybody these days just want to rip you off. (General sense)

My ones are nice sold, but rusty. I was thinking should I do it myself which is fine, but what would I need and how do I colour match etc?

Really, okay, not a bad price but then isn't a set of new the same price? so my next question, how much would one be looking at to get a car respray?

£45/50 per wheel is about standard.

If you can get a full set of decent alloys for £200, pleaes let me know where. Most SINGLE alloy wheels will cost that price.

What stuff do others use as a coating to protect their alloys? I mean, once you clean the buggers, does anybody spray some stuff on to keep them clean a little longer, mine just accumulate dirt like no tomorrow.

Bluevortex swears by Collinite wax, I use Supagard spray. Can't speak for the Collinite but Supagard works well for me and is dead easy to apply - spray on cleaned wheels, leave a short while and wipe over. Job done

I've been using Jetseal 109 and been getting very good results!! It's a sealant that can be layered and works well on alloys

I've not been around this forum long Blue but couldn't help but notice this is a subject you're clearly pretty familiar with. I take care of my cars but (as we've discussed) tend to use Auto Glym and water.

So what would be your (say) top 5 car care products and have you any prefered suppliers with regard to price/delivery?

Mer wax, is that any good?

or Autoglym stuff?

jeezuz mother and mary, I saw how much the HD autoglym wax was, they can keep it. Not much for your money.

I ask anyway, as Halfords have a sale on cleaning products, any mix and match.

I got to get me a new auto shifter, the current one has had it. Still working alright, but the leather has completely gone and frankly awful to use and a right eye sore, god only knows what previous owner did to it.

Can you buy any auto shifter with overdrive?

You think this one will fit?
