Creaking Leather

Following a seat replacement some while ago thought I would treat the leather to a coating of superguard, I used the leather wipes which cleans and protects..

Since doing this the side of the seat creaks against the side trim of the seat where the electric seat switches are.

I have tried leather cleaners, conditioners and even wiped silicone spray over it and although it is better the seat still creaks against the trim.

What I need is either something that will completely remove this product or an item that will make the leather slippery enough to stop the noise but not harm the leather.

So far have tried turtle wax leather cleaner and conditioner, DFS leather treatment for furniture, Autoglym cleaner and conditioner, Gliptone conditioner and silicone spray.

Could anyone suggest a product that may help ease this creaking sound possibly an oil that will soften and remain on the surface.

You seem to have tried everything!!! But..... An odd remedy perhaps, what about dubbin?? Used to use that on my football boots years ago and it not only stopped the leather squeaking, it softened them and made them waterproof as well!

Had the same problem for 3 years, tried everything to stop it and the only way my wife and i have found is to lean towards the drivers door when moving the seat in both directions, bit of a pain in the butt but it has worked for us.

Years ago, when we still had obligatory military service here, the boots we received new were a pain... in the foot. :!Removed!:

So, we soaked them with rifle oil and then ran over them a couple of times with a Willies Overland Jeep.

That softend them. :D

Rifle oil!

Vaseline

Love the replies so far may try dubbin and veseline but will probably give the rifle oil and jeep a miss.

Stick to the rifle oil.

Willies Overlands are hard to come by nowadays. ;)
