Oil Light St205

Recently, when i start the engine the oil light stays on for approx 2 seconds and then goes off. Ive checked the oil and the level is fine, although a little dirty. Has anyone any ideas?

Also when im accelerating hard, on two occasions ive had a sudden power drain and then immediatley comes back on (probably 0.5 secs lapse) Its getting serviced next week so hopefully they should pick up on it, but just wondered if anyone has had any similar experiences.

Cheers

Orange one or red one?

Red one is oil pressure, if this comes on and stays on you are either in big trouble or the sensor is faulty. Orange one is oil level, again the sensor is usually faulty. They are about 200 quid to replace from Toyota  , or you can just disconnect it.

edit: just re-read - they are supposed to come on at startup?

As for your power drain scenario, I'd say it's a good chance it could be a clogged fuel filter or a problem with your plugs/leads/dizzy, but if that won't solve it there are various other scenarios. Have you modified it to increase the boost at all? Any error codes? Read the tech section of my site to see how it check for error codes.

It is the red light but does not stay on, only for about 2 secs. Recently the radiator went and had to have that replaced, would that have anything to do with it?

Ill check the fault codes tonite, but there doesnt seem to be any performance difference.

Cheers for that anyway.
