Hi Guys, can someone explain to me what I need to rest the cars ECU? (Not me but performance centre)

Just had replacement fuel Injectors (d4d) now getting a very slight misfire, when ticking over. I have the serial number of the ones that came out but not that went in. Is this a problem?

Please give an idiots guide???

Cheers Ronnie Roo (girl)

you can pull the ecu fuse or just disconnect the Battery for 10-15 mins, that should do it

Although injectors are manufactured to extremely high standards, none of them are exactly the same.

New injectors need to be calibrated into the ECM, which can only be done electronically, with the Toyota Intelligent Tester (or equivalent).

Also, when removing the injectors for whatever reason, make sure to mark them so that they can be installed into the cylinder where they came from!

Pulling the Battery will not recalibrate the injectors.

Thermal is correct. I had a chat with one of the guys at work, turns out the injectors have to be callibrated to the injectionsystem in order to work correctly. He said a lot more than that but I glazed over fairly early on once I got the gist of it. The injectors and the rest of the system need to be matched together.

You Guys are so fab, yes I did say the ECU. But must have meant the ECM. Sorry all new to this, but having to learn fast. Does anyone know anyone who can do this in the NW area. As out Toyota is a bit small and not the best.

Thank you all again. Ronnie Roo

Hi again Ronnie, I am led to believe only Toyota dealers can do this, driving your car around without having the compensation codes sorted may cause further problems in the future. Can you you not just take the car back to another Toyota dealers in your area like Bentleys Toyota in Warrington.

Regards Pete.
