BlueValour here; got tired of failing to login so have created a new account! Any thoughts as to the comfort/value of leather upholstery on the Gen 3 compared with the standard fabric stuff, please?

I've got leather in mine, but I've not tried the fabric seats to compare them with. They seem pretty comfortable but not quite up to the same standard as the ones in my old LS400. They were pretty much unmarked after over 200k miles but I managed to scratch the back panel of the Prius front seat with a zip on my jacket within 2 days of getting it. A local car detailer has done a fairly good job of colouring it in but it needs sanding and filling to fix it properly.

I think despite all that I'd much rather get leather seats over fabric because they are easier to keep clean (important if you've got kids :)).

Aah - kids puking over car seats - happy memories.

Be aware that there's a difference between the proper factory fitted leather only that comes with the Safety Pack and the aftermarket leather otherwise fitted at the docks on UK Priuses. But either has to be preferable to the weird faux-Alcantara that's standard on the current model, IMO.

Thankfully I've never had a problem with that (and they are now aged 11 and 9)! It's more like dropped bits of food. Chocolate is one of the worst culprits - it just wipes off leather but it's a bugger to get out of cloth.

I prefer leather. It looks good and relatively easy to maintain. I had it in my Gen 2 Prius and I ordered leather for my new Gen 3. Dealer told me the leather was fitted at factory for my Gen 3 but wherever it was done I am happy with it. My son's Gen 2 Prius has leather and it still looks good even though he has done over 50,000 miles and carried lots of passengers on business in UK and Europe. I recommend leather.
