Hi

The engine started to misfire on no1 cylinder usually after a restart while engine still warm. Sometimes clears after a while. Runs perfectly when first started. Changed the no 1 lead which "cured" the problem for a few weeks but now it is back. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi perhaps you should have a look at the distributor cap especially inside it for any hairline cracks around the no 1 lead area >>

A common fault to cause a misfire is the injectors especially when warmed up. Mine would run perfectly until warm. Replaced with a second hand injector and ran perfect, dont buy new - very expensive. Took the whole injector rail + 4 injector off a scrap one for £10. My local toyota dealer gave me the advice about the misfire caused by the injectors.

Thanks guys. I have concluded that it must be the injector. Some injector cleaner in the tank has made a slight improvement buthas probably only put off the inevitable. A search for a new injector (£10 for 4 would be brilliant) is on

If you cant find one let us know as i have still got 3 (what i believe) good ones left on the rail in my garage.
