Hi all I'm Charlie from Burntisland in Scotland.. I am just about to buy a Diesel Rav4 its the T180 version. Am I correct in assuming that the 6 speed gearbox is standard ???? TIA.

Charlie.

Yes you are absolutley correct. Its only version is a 6 speed manual. No auto version (unfortunatley)

Hi all.

See chas, you've fit into the club extremely well.

Being daft, having mad moments, and being from a certain region up in,as BK puts it,Scotlandshire how can you not win hearts and minds?

At least that is the way I see it

Off now to Bletchley Park,to see if there are any boffins left there who can decipher the code that some of the posts seem to be written in :unsure::rolleyes: :

Anyway enjoy the new motor. :D

Now what was that hornswoggling line in Blazing Saddles? Ah yes, authentic frontier gibberish  It is all the fault of the Romans. They didn't export civilisation that far north :yahoo:

It does brighten up a quiet day at work tho and remember: The Post Office on Gigha is (was?) run by a Mr MacSporran.

It's bad enough having to decypher Big Kev and Bothys twang......lets not encouage anymore Scotlandshire on here, otherwise there might have to be an interpreter employed by TOC, and NO Big Kev, you cant have the job, that would be too silly for words

Listen well, oh King of Parts....it will not be long before Charlie Farlie will be on looking to acquire parts and/or engine improvement methods for his new car. With me being a Guru member, and speaking his native tongue, I fully expect he will solicit my opinion in the first instance as to whom he should direct his hard earned cash for said arrapatus.......

Ermmmm.... I should confess here and Now I dont originate from Scotland..... My native tongue is English !! So I consider Myself a Guest staying up here in Gods country !!! As for spending any hard earned on the Rav after I get it tomorrow well its a fully loaded car so likely wont need to !! Except maybe a reversing camera and some winter wheels &tyres and some tyres to replace the runflats (Anybody interested in a 1000 mile old set of 18 inch runflats )And maybe a bit of bling....Oh God here We go !!................... One of the main reasons for buying a 4x4 to run alongside My other car (Which does not do snow) is to cope with winter if We have another one like the last two here on the East coast and also to tow the Jet Ski.. Anyone into Jet Skiing ????

Ach well, Parts King...somebody who drives one of them water borne things will have no interest whatsoever in The Lindop Chip Kit to make his Rav even more fun to drive.

Congratulations on your honesty Charlie re your being an incomer....you are welcome nevertheless. I have sent you a PM re your tyres.

NICE STREET BY THE WAY.....HAVE YOU ALL GOT ALARMS.....?
