Oil is a very emotive subject as you can see here on this recent thread

5w 30 semi synthetic, from any well known manufacturer will be OK, your dealer will sell it at a good price too. The spec of the dealer oil is 5w 30 API SL ACEA A1/B1

They also do a fuel efficient version 5w 30 which is API CF; ACEA A5/B5 C2

The choice is yours

Kingo

Charlie,

What you have to look out for is the C2 spec for the T-180 for the D-CAT. Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30 meets this spect but oils like Castrol EDGE does not even though they both meet the VW 507 00 standards. I would not use a semi synth as you've no idea to what synth oil is in it. Could be 70% could be 10%. The only way to get the best oil is go for a full syth or better still an Ester oil but you'll pay a lot for it...

But does it meet the C2 spec? I think you'll find that the Castrol Magnatec pro is a C2 spec. But that can only be bought through the trade...

It will have a spec list on the back of the tub. If Anch's says it meets the standards then it will.
