Got My Gen3 Around One Month Early...

Got my Gen3 yesterday, but it's sure a strange procedure to get it...

First the dealer told me 30 to 45 days to get it.. Went to another dealer that told me the same story (wanted it in silver) but then I had the test drive in the blackish red mica version, and that looked so good that I could not resist, so booked that one, expected to wait for a long time to get, but no worries since my traded in my pickup, but had it until the new car was delivered.

Two days later, they called me today it could be delivered on the 5th may, oh lucky me, now I was starting to get impatience and guess the wife started to get sick of listening to me babbling about Prius, ev driving etc.

Then suddenly last friday they called again... Tuesday is the day 16.00 is the time... Couldn't sleep Monday night... Not a bit...

So got the car, it's the top model as they call it here, with leather seats, seat heaters, heated front and back window, climate control, 6 cd changer, also got sensors all way around, but they will be fitted in two weeks due to problems with delivery of spare parts.

Only drove 260km since yesterday evening but it's sure all I could have dreamed about, I wonder why everybody is not driving a Prius, push the pwr button and see the BMW 518 get smaller in the rear view mirror. :)

No pictures yet, due to lack of camera, but will post some once I get back from Indonesia... Not driving though.. Would like to hehe

Oh one last thing, since Thailand does not have a manual in English only Thai, if anyone has a PDF version of the English manual I would very much like to get that... There are so many buttons and light I have no clue what does...

Regards a very happy new Prius owner

Here are the pictures of my new Prius, and I almost moved into it, or that is according to the wife, she think I spend too much time in that car hehe

I am seriously liking the colour of that car...pretty sure we don't get that choice in the UK :(

Thanks all,

And yes I do enjoy the motoring, drove 222 miles yesterday with 3 passengers mostly highway and got 65 mpg. Found out from another post what that normal mode was, and it sure helps on the mpg when prodding along at 55 mph :)

And for the colour, I think that Seamaster73 checked it already and it was not available in the UK :(

I hope it will be though, because even you can see the smallest speck of dirt on it, it still makes the heads turn :)

I downloaded the Thai Prius eCatalogue for iPad, and there are two colours on offer in Thailand we don't get — Thrawn's "Blackish Red Mica" and "Light Blue Mica". I'd have ordered the latter if it had been available here. I think it's the same colour the PHEV concept car has been shown in.

I've heard nothing. Not a dicky bird. I ring Fleet once a week, and they have nothing to report other than a "LATE" flag on their system. Officially, my Merc is due back on Friday. It needs an MOT on Saturday, which I'm going to have done, as I just can't see the Prius (or even a loaner) arriving before then.

Talk of Friday 3rd for mine, but I'm not confident. No one's asked for my Merc back (was supposedly due back a fortnight ago!).

Are you sure you didn't mean Friday 13.

Delivery date pushed back again, they're now saying possibly 1 July, which will be over five months from date of order.

Sorry to hear that. Something funny going on if you ask me. You ordered your Prius several days before I ordered mine and yet you are still waiting. Whichever company is acting as the middleman between you and Toyota need to pull their finger out frankly.

Latest update is a revised delivery date between 1/8 and 31/8, which could be a lead time of up to 28 weeks or well over 6 months from date of order. Prospective Prius purchasers beware!

You have a lot more patients than me because I would have cancelled upon this news and looked for something else. Really sorry to hear you are being messed around like this.

Well, it's no big deal for me, it's not like I'm car-less in the meantime. I have to hand my current car back (it's well past due) but I am supposedly being supplied with a Toyota loaner some time this week.

Ok having done a couple of hj dred mile my average mpg is just over 50mpg, although I've not adopted my driving style and have also had little blasts in sports mode to see how it handles around B roads. Build quality is exceptional and I don't believe the ride is hard.

It's not my Honda civic type s 2.2d and if I drove that at the spEeds I drove the CT200 would get similar mileage. I'm sure around town though it will be better. Spent a lot of miles on A19 and A1

Overall pretty happy with the car after extended test drive
