We have 3 dogs, so I'm looking for a boot liner to protect my new (to me) 2008 XT-R boot area. I have seen on eBay (item 150587510966) at half the price of the genuine Toyota liner. Has anyone had one of these or know if they are any good.

I have the genuine Toyota one in the car I only bought two days ago. It seems a great piece of kit and almost essential if You have dogs.. Only question is would in not be slippery ?? My one will be handy for when We are Jet skiing as the wetsuits can be thrown onto it. Good piece of kit and well worth 25 quid !!!! HTH

I think I'd be tempted to give it a go, especially as it has a carpet insert, that said I couldn't see if the insert was included or cost extra, as CharlieFarlie says the Toyota one is as slippery as a slippery thing on a slippery day, I often carry a tool box weighing a good 50lbs in the back of mine and it slides all over the place if I forget to put an old towel under it!

The mutts would probably prefer the carpet too :)

I have the slippery one from Toyota. It's good until you put something heavy on it and it has a tendency to move and get a bit bent out of shape.

I was tiling my bathroom and put 13 boxes in the boot, it was a bit of mess by the time I got home luckily it does mould back into shape fairly easily again

Hi kd,

Buy one....utterly brill, and the middle section is genuinely very non slip almost a neoprene soft section inlaid. Would have suited yer toolbox to a tee, Lee, see...?

When We had dogs.(Two Border Collies) We used to put a section of old carpet in the back of Our estate car And that was just fine ! Cheap as chips and easy to replace !! Sorted.. If It were not for the fact that My one will be used for collecting the water off the wetsuits I would give Yer the !Removed! thing !!

Thanks to you all for your useful comments. I'm glad I didn't Shell out for the genuine Toyota one after reading your comments. I think I will go for the eBay one (although being a canny Yorkshire man, the offcut of carpet is tempting and it would be easier to access the under floor storage space)

I'll now move on to dog guards and rear bumper protection.

Thanks again

Can't really complain Kev, mine came free (I insisted) with the car, along with the nice mats, dark windows and a tank of diesel :yahoo:

Still a very slippery thing though....

Shame the git failed miserably to get a handbook in English :crybaby:

Watch out for a silver RAV4 with Spanish plates next weekend - I'll be hittin' Makro in Hillington

Can you still an access to the storage under te floor?

We have two of these pets at home waterproof boot covers. http://www.petsathome.com/shop/boot-and-rear-seat-cover-by-pets-at-home-24407

One is permanently attached to the back seats such they protect the back of the seats and one sits on the floor. The excess is lost behind the sliding seats. We have a dog and a sizeable pram. Carpet always looks so shiny when I take the whole lot out to clean them!
