Touching Up Pearl White

For those of you who have pearl white and stone chips have you been able to touch them up with success or is the pearl finish a mare to do? Reason I ask is I've just been to look at a gen 3 at my local centre and there are several (maybe 3-4) small stone chips on the front bumper. He said he'd touch them up but I'm not convinced it's that easy when it's a pearl finish. Or is it?

Cheers for any advice.

Many of the companies they use such as chips away are very good at all types of small cosmetic repairs, with all types of paint

Ok, thanks, but has anybody got any chips on their pearl white cars and tried to touch up and what were the results like? For that matter can you get pearl white touch up pens from Mr T?

cheers

I have not had any chips on our new pearl white car and I do not want any. However when I purchased our new Pearl white Gen 3 car it came with a tin of touch up paint. A friend who was a chauffeur has given me the following tips on touching up small chips on cars.I did touch up a chip or two on my gen 2 Aztec Gold Prius using these tips and the result was not perfect but satisfactory. Only touch up on a warm day. Ensure the paint is thoroughly mixed. Do not use a brush use a "cocktail stick". Build the paint into the chip gradually do not rush and have good light. Do not polish for at least two days then polish using a good wax polish. After I did mine it was not easy to see where I had touched up the chips. It is not a few minutes task.

I do not recommend touch up pens.

Cocktail stick is a good tip. Never use the brush that comes with the touch-up paint. As an alternative, buy a fine brush from an art supply shop.
