Did You Name Your Car?

Or is it far too sad for you to consider? :D

And yes, I have named mine. Because I love it so much!

Do tell!

(The title meant to say *Your Car*, not *You Car*! Cannot abide typos. Do it all the time :ffs: )

Whereas I do understand why those who say *it is just a car*, say this, I feel that we tend to name things to which we have an emotional attachment...

The naming demonstrates we think of something beyond being an object. Sadly, I have to admit I am emotionally attached to my car and cannot imagine not having it. I have not felt like this about all my cars...

*Amadeus, The Carmchair*. It rocks!

Don't get me wrong, I really like my car and spend a lot of time and money to ensure it runs well and looks its best, but I can't ever imagine a day when i would think that it needs a name.

Its not as if it would ever respond if i started calling its name in a car park..

LOL!!!!!

If any car can, a Toyota can! And I seriously envisage the day Toyota will make a car with voice recognition, so that those who continually forget where they parked it will be able to shout *Amadeus, where are you?*!!! Then a car name will be a must!

But I am seriously not suggesting everyone should be as sad as I am... LOL

Les that is awesome!

I like the thought of naming your car(s), I've been doing it for a while with my dads and my own cars, and it's nice to make more of a personal attachment.

My first car - The Corolla GTi is called Fluffy - I know that's fairly dire but there are 3 F's and 1 L in the plate so there wasn't much to do

My second car - The Renault Clio is called Terry - T Plate ;)

My dads first Hyundai Coupe - he still has it - is called Milly (MLY)

His Second Coupe - Now sold on for financial reasons - was called Jaxy (JXY)

His Prelude - Now scrapped and engine going in the Coupe - was called Murry (MUR)

And now his E12 Corolla T-Sport is called Livvy (LVD)

His Girlfriends Fiesta is called Bernie. It doesn't get much attention

Not named my car other than referring to it as the CTS (Corolla T Sport)

Think it's more of a female thing to name cars.... KP included :P

LOL! Love all the names!!!

My car was named after this:

The most played tune when I am in a *driving for fun* mood. He was named after this tune, because he blooming well rocks! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

And all my cars have been boys. I am sure there must be a simple Freudian explanation for that.

Yeah. I am that sad!

Oh but I can! :P Just not legally.... believe it or not, I can't get a license at the age of 16..... :censor:

When I did drive it was a 1.4 Astra around a mud track... and seeing as Vauxhalls can no longer be classed as cars (they're badly built tin on wheels) it doesn't count I guess :(
