What I have on my G6r from gearstick backwards is:

1. Alarm LED (I think)

2. Light adjustment (up or down)

3. Coin rack

My spotlights (I've just spotted) switch is on the left hand indicator stalk like Bens....

I'll have to look at what I've got now on the white one :->

It's seems theres lots of little variations on these Corollas.

I was thinking the same thing. Its not as if its a 1.3 or a 1.6 thing - its a model-by-model thing! Strange really as you would have thought there was no benefit to having more than one way of doing something so simple as a fog-light switch!

It might have something to do with the SRs (mine at least) being made in a factory in Japan. I believe the other variants were made in the UK.

Posted

How can we tell where it's made ?

Mine has a little window sticker in the front saying "Made In Japan" but I don't think its an oem fitment :)

Posted

That's what mine had until the screen was recently replaced when I was having the car re-painted.

When I bought my SR I had to wait a couple of extra weeks for delivery because there had been a fire in the Toyota factory in Japan.

That is OEM fitment - I have the same sticker in my windscreen. If your Corolla was made in Japan your VIN no. will start with 'JT'. If it was built in Britain I think it starts with 'SB' - this is good to know off hand for when you order brakes etc as I think the Japan models use an Akebono system and the UK models use Lucas apparently.

Good info, just had a look and mine starts with JT

Update: Here's the car with one of the G6 wheels on. When my dad can get round to it(!) the car will have 4x G6 14" wheels on which are very similar in size to the MiM 16" wheels apparently - strange but true.

Anyway, I think it tones down the car alot, and I must admit I'm getting a liking for these white rolla's now ;->

Anyway, how do you think it will look?

You've taken off the rear wing

Posted

Oh yes Paul - it's gonna be sprayed black and put on the G6R. The spoiler from the G6R will be put on this one to fill the holes.

Posted

How easy was it to take off as I've been looking at a WRC rear wing

You had any luck finding replacment fog lights as I'm getting NO where :crybaby:

Posted

Its a doddle taking the rear wing off. 2 bolts under 2 black plastic bungs on the underside of the bootlid, and one under the black plastic high level rear brake-light - 10mm bolts if I remember correctly. The easiest upgrade ever!

What's the WRC rear wing you've been looking at then? Can you post a link on here or your thread? I've given up with the front fog lights. They will have some Chappie dog-food tins siliconed in over them as mine are irreparable unfortunately.

Posted

I think for my fog lamps I will measure them across and just find and mount some other lights there.

As for the WRC rear wing, it looks like this..

I'm not sure if it will be/look too much ?

Hi Paul,

I think with your TTE spoiler it would look too much, but with a standard small spoiler it would look fine. What do you reckon?

Posted

Yeah I would have to loose the TTE spoiler which is a problem for me as I like it lol..

:censor: cars lol

Posted

That's a wrc spoiler on a e12 corolla?!

Posted

Yeah soz it is, its the same type of rear wing, there was one on eBay the other week, but I just wondered if it would look bad with out the wheel arches etc

As for taking the rear wing off, I don't think mine is bolted on ? I will take a look tomorrow.

Posted

It is bolted on mate, deffo. I've removed one off the white car of mine remember, and that's a TTE spoiler. Shame you didn't have your change of mind a few weeks ago before Ben G6 bought his off egay!

A modification I think would look quite cool would be to do away with the standard rear spoiler, smooth it off (fabricate a body coloured panel - you'll see when you take your TTE spoiler off) and just have the WRC spoiler on. 2 spoilers on the back of a car just looks blatantly boy racer to me

I went outside and took a look today, and your right  theres a couple of large platic plugs meaning its bolted on :yahoo:

Here's what the car looks like now with G6 wheels on it, much better I think:

I'm really growing fond of this white rolla!

White cars are nice  I think the mims look better, but would work well in a different colour.

If I can't get any G6 flat wheelnuts for a cheap price the MiMs will be going back on it as there's no way I'm spending out £35 for the property nuts for it!

Posted

£35 isn't bad... the ones I got for my ST24 once were £70 :crybaby: but they were BK racing rims...
