Hey I have been trying to figure out what would be the best size tire to go with for these 16x7 rims that I am going to be buying. They are going on a echo and I am trying to figure out what would be the best fit to go with so that I wont get any rubbing or anything like that. I am thinking maybe 195/45/16 but I am not sure. does anyone have any suggestions?

The SR model in the UK has 16x7 wheels as standard fitment and is fitted with 195/50-16 tyres - so they're a definate safe fitment.

There was a 1.8SR model for many years that had 17 inch wheels and that was fitted with 205 tyres - so it looks like you're safe up to 205 width.

Having said that, the European Yarii are built in France and your Echo will be US built, so there is a chance that they have slightly different mechanicals and/or different design under the wheel arches - so you can't guarantee that what fits without rubbing on a UK car will be the same on a US built version.....

One thing to note is that the 1.8 SR has a hugely increased turning circle, the steering has been limited because the wheels are too big for the car. Toyota would not publish the turning radius in the brochure, you can hit full lock just pulling out from a T-junction
