Hi all,

I own 1.8l petrol 2004 toyota Rav 4 and the engiene management light has been coming on and off recently... i brought it to my local toyota dealer who told me that the VVTI HUB needs replacing and that it will cost 500 eurpo to fix.. can anyone tell me what this means for the engiene and am i doing any damage in driving the car till i can the money together to fix this. any advice would be very helpful.

Hi Pam

It should be OK to drive although it may suffer from low power. The VVTi hub is the device that sits on the end of the camshaft to vary the valve timing and it sounds like yours isn't working. I might sound out a few local garages though as it sounds steep to me :thumbsup:
