Hud And Night Driving?

Knowing Toyotas stance on making sure that the driver accepts all responsibility for operation of things like the sat nav before it comes on does the HUD still operate when the Prius lights are turned on, ie when it's dark? :) Or, is it one of those things that would be a distraction to some drivers so it's disabled? I know it's dimmable (is that a word?) and that you can turn it off.

Our hud is on all the time, and I seem to have set it not to dim when I turn the lights on!

I don't find it at all intrusive

Cheers for that. I'll be fine with it as I'm used to that sort of thing but I could imagine some pensioners freaking over it at night.

You can switch it on and off and select speed only, speed and hybrid indicator rev counter type thingy or the satnav directions if you have satnav. You can also turn the brighnest right up or down and the brightness also adjusts automatically when you switch the headlights on and off.

I learned from the manual today that you can also set a minimum speed at which it appears.
