Hi all

I just want to ask if there is a kit out there for parking sensors to be fitted to a late 03 2ltr T Spirit? Has anyone ever fitted one and if so what sort of cost and how easy/difficult is it to do?

Thanks in anticipation.

Totally agree with Ormi....just had Toyota ones fitted to the Rav by a friend. You can buy cheaper, but these so far are faultless/ no daft stray beeping for no reason. Can usually be bought colour coded to car as well.

Big Kev

Toyota quoated £550 for reverse parking kit on my car.

Bought a kit from eBay, get it colour coded in body shop (paid 40 pounds) and they are working brilliantly on my car. It is 2 hour job, if you read the toyota parking sensor fitting manual. They have also giving landmarks, where to mark and make holes for sensors.

2 hours of your life and about 70 pounds for sensors and colour coding.....

I'm with you on this one Sam, I looked into Toyota prices and no way would I pay that sort of money I don't know how they justify it especially when Ormi tells us they take less than an hour to fit, maybe the techs are on big money due to all those qualifications .... sorry but I couldn't resist that one Ormi ... nothing personal, just a bit of banter ;).

Pete.

bumper off(a few ten mm nuts and a few plastic clips)

n/s/r light out 3 ten mm nuts

tap into the reverse feed and earth off the nuts that hold the light on push the loom through the blanking grommet(throw the old grommet away) a new one is on the new loom

drill 4 21mm holes templates supplyed if you ask!!

push the sensors in and connect the numbered connectors a whole 4 of them

job done.....

the time is a book time..you get nearly 5 hours to fit a rav 4 tow bar it only takes around 2

and theirs your 40k service book time 2 hrs you can do it in less than half that..

I paid nothing at all.

I just mentioned, before ordering the car, that I expected them (and a couple of other extra's), to be installed before delivery. ;)

They work perfectly.
