On the subject of "tinny" door shutting noises, wifey's wee three door has the spare wheel and matching cover on the back door. The usually tinny sound of the door being shut is followed within point two of a second with a bang that resembles Hiroshima, this resonating from the big plastic spare wheel cover. Has anybody experienced same and had it rectumfied....?

Been in ma mate's XF twin turbo beast of a thing.....faultlessful !!!!!! Another friend, self employed chauffeur, convinced multi millionaire client to buy an XJ Series rather than a Bentley Continentally Beast....he took his advice and loves it.

Also lotsa change back....

Big Kev

Question for you to take umbrage over Kev ;). Cover is on properly isn't it? You can get it almost not quite sitting down properly over the back black plastic bit of the wheel carrier and it does rattle a bit like that.

Also experimented by putting a couple of small bits of foam pushed in between the side lower bit of the wheel cover and plastic trim on the door, to try to stop the cover moving quiet so much. Helped a little, didn't rub paint away.

There's an art form to making normal stuff feel expensive (gets you bigger profits if you are lucky). Isn't the door "clunk" one of those things? I was under the impression that a lot of it was down to the design/position of the rubber stops on the door, but I could be wrong and very often am. The Yaris is far better than the RAV in the "door clunk" respect.

Rectify it by totally removing the plastic hiroshima wheel cover and just having the spare wheel on bare back.

Can't see any other fix for it. Thicker plastic would help.

Well folks

After driving this JAAAAAAG for today,Tbh it feels no different to me than the Vauxhall Insignia i had last year when i had similar troubles.

It actually reminds me of my dads old mondeo...old L reg saloon.but a little more refined

The seats are leather (black),bloomin hot when you wear shorts,as today i found out  ,the seats are farely hard (similar to my mums yaris).

Yes it feels big ,solid, smooth, very refined,oh and erm.......a.....tad....powerfull,a flappy paddles....yuk,keep hitting my fingers on them

Its features look........fascinating,but i feel too enclosed sitting ' in ' it,i like sitting higher ,better view of the road in front.

I like the fact that my Rav4 can take a few bruises...up & down a kirb, bit of slinging around

the tryes ar'nt rubber bands like the jags, i like changing gear and deciding what gear I want.

I'M NOT OLD ENOUGH FOR A JAAAAAG YET.......sorry but it looks nice but thats it

i did take me mum out for a quick ride tonight, she was in her element, although the sheer power scared her (especially when i floored it in a 30) ,and a police man was there with ' the gun'....around a corner, aaaaaaagrh, but i quickly slowed up,

He said he didnt get me ,i as was only doing 34 before i hit the brakes...lucky

The only night i take out my wee mother for a spin in a jag and there's a blinkin copper with a camera........just my luck

Mother said ' i told you so '.......

TIMOTHY........comes to mind
