Can anybody advise me on changing my turbo boost from .9 bar to possibly 1.2 without fitting an eletronic boost controller, and can it be done without fitting a fuel cut defencer

im looking for an increase in power without spending to much money or risking the engine going pop.

I assume you have an ST205. You need a relief valve or a bleed valve - but the first is better, they can be had for around £25 they hook upto the actuator, you'll need to disable the Turbo VSV aswell.

At 1.2 bar you should be OK with regards to fuel-cut as you have maps to 1.2-1.3 bar. With boost spikes you might find yourself hitting it occasionally.

I would seriously think about running 1.2 bar however - You want an increase in power - you don't want the engine to go pop. At 1.2 bar with no other modifications and crude boost control (relief valve) I believe you are on shakey ground. I would go for 1.05 possibly 1.1 bar as a limit. I wouldn't go past that without some extra cooling (water injection for example).

Hope this is of use. :)
