P1226 Fault Code Fuel Line Malfunction

Hi all

I have a fault with my 2002 avensis d4d.

The engine is slow to start, wont rev over approx 3000 revs and struggles to achieve more than 30 mph.The car feels like its in limp mode but the engine light is not on.

My friend has put his snap on code reader onto the car and the fault code p1226 fuel line malfunction came up.

Does anyone have any ideas.

the following possible reasons might be:

- fuel filter clogging;

- poor injection;

- incorrect injection timing;

- glow plugs faulty;

- air inside of fuel system.

I suggest a minor fault creates your head ache.
