Newbie Needing Help

Hi, was looking for info/help on a recent problem with my MR2 J reg. The car is having trouble starting when cold. Very intermittant problem. The engine turns over but just wont fire!! When this happens, I've jumped it from my other car and usually starts shortly after. After the car has been started it will stop and start all day until the following day when the issue starts again? I had a new Battery last summer and have replaced the disi and rotor disc a few weeks ago. The plugs all look normal. After chatting with a mechanic, he thinks a fuel pump problem but I was thinking along the lines of a earthing issue as the car starts when being jumped??

Secondly, whilst driving occasionally it will loose power. After depressing the clutch and revving it sorts itself? This somethimes happens when going around a roundabout?

Any help would be much appreciated.

When did it last have a decent service? when were the plugs changed? Have you checked the lead resistance?
