Front Grill Replacement Part

Hi Guys,

Brace yourselves for probably the worst description ever of a grille part I need to replace on my 2007 Rav4 XTR Its the plastic grille strip that sits above the front number plate and below the main front grille.......it might have a special name but god knows what it is! anyway its black plastic and mine is damaged so I'd like to replace it......any ideas please if this is something Kingo could advise on?

Hi hoggydo, not sure what you mean, the part that the number plate fastens to? or the plastic mesh above the numberplate, or something else? I have a complete spare frt grille Without chrome bit FOC if its of any use Stew

Yes its the black plastic mesh strip positoned above the number plate! It looks as though it just clips into the bumper with small plastic lugs! Any ideas whether its possible to get a replacement or not?

I have got the Toyota "nudgey bar" doodah on mine, but can see where you are coming from , Paul....had to go out and look, and there are actually 3 separate bits of this plastic "grilling" on mine. Would not be surprised if it turns out to be one of them "notsa easy unless ye remove the bumper" jobs.....please prove me wrong....!!!

It must be available as a part, but is there anyway it could be fixed or hidden, obviously i dont know how its damaged Stew

Yes I am worried it's going to be a bit tricky to get to! Still if the bumper has to come off then so be it! I have PM'd Kingo so hopefully I will hear from him next week! Will let you know what he says........but thanks so far for the comments!

Pretty sure you will need to get the bumper off - it's very difficult to see or get a hand in to get the tabs/lugs and release them. I also doubt if you could even get the new part in place that way.

Taking the bumper off is a bit daunting at first but if you follow the instructions in attached PDF it is pretty straight forward.

Just make sure you tape up well as shown and have a thick blanket down to rest the bumper on when it's off.

If you have fog lights, don't forget to disconnect them before you fully take the bumper off. I beleve you can access the connections by pulling back the front wheel arch splash guards or get a helper to do it while you support the bumper.

It is possible to remove the bumper single handed but easier with help

Hoggydo. There is one on fleabay off a brand new t180. No point us bidding against each other. If you want it I'll sit back.
