Retrofit Cruise Control Update

Hi all.

Thought I would post this for those people who have read previous posts (ref sol d4d instructions), about retrofitting a cruise control stalk. The previous posts state that it works for all 1cd-ftv. After lots of digging, head scratching and trial and error, I can say that it does not work on all 2004 avensis diesels. My car does not have the white wire going to pin 24 on J10 on the ecu, hence the reason it didn't work!!

So if you are contemplating doing this, check that pin 24 on the J10 connector on the ecu has the white wire going to it.

Hope this info will save a lot of people wasted money and effort.

BTW, my car now won't start! I think that trying to retrofit the cruise control stalk has shorted out the ecu or immobiliser!

Thanks very much for the information. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your car and hopefully you will sort it out.

Hi.

Got the car started. I found out that I had opened up 3 of the female pins on the ecu connector, when I was doing the con checks. Removed them, nipped them up, and all ok now.

Shame that after all that hard work and worry, I still don't have cruise control!!
