Hi All

Now having owned my gen 2 for 3 monthes, and made the first long trip to France, I thought I had better report in.

Drove 260 miles down into France fully loaded with holiday and fishing gear, returned 56.3 mpg, on the retun trip, drove 257 miles and returned 55.7 mpg, the best I have had so far, this time apart from a short distance we stayed off the motorways, The drive was good, comfortable, no problems either way, top tempreture was 27 deg, but mostly around 24 deg, air con worked fine, all in all a good trip.

Hi

Mine is also a 2007, I changed the speedo to KM and stuck just under the limit 88-89 as of 90kph as I said did not do motorways this time, I cannot seem to break the 50s over here, not sure about the type of tyres, the oil is over filled as when I collected it, from what I have read on here both can stuff the milage, also I sold my Jaguar XJ8 3.2 to purchase the Prius, so maybe stil slighly in Jaguar mode, I wass getting some 23-24 on a run in that.hope you enjoy your car, I am pleased with mine.

When I did a trip from Chesterfield to Dusseldorf at 65MPH in UK and 100- 110 KPH on the other side of the channel, in my Gen 2 my average MPG was 55mpg with 10.5K miles on the clock, 57 mpg with 18K miles and 59mpg with 34.5k miles. That just shows the increased efficiency of the car as it gets more mileage under its belt.

The same trips in my Gen3 returned 63mpg on both occasions and thats with 2.5K and 13.3k miles under it belt. Looking forward to the next trip later in the year.

That's interesting - my Gen 2 has 20k on clock now so maybe it will also improve with miles

We did our first longish trip last week,(2007 Spirit) down to Somerset on the M5, first time we both noticed how the seats make your bum ache! the wife is now looking for some kind of seat pad to sit on next time we do a trip, any suggestions?

Over 350 miles we got home showing 58.9 mpg.

Hi

Dont know if it will help, having sold my XJ8 Jaguar to buy the Prius, I found it mosy uncomfortable, and thought what have I bought, I took the drivers seat, back one notch, and now its ok, the bum was ok it was my back that was uncomfortable, worth a try.

I found the lumbar support far too intrusive and have it set as far back as it will go. This helped me get rid of the back ache I was getting.

Trouble is it's the wife in the passenger seat that suffers the most & that seat has only sliding adjustment, strangely enough I've had back trouble for years & this is the first car that doesn't cause a problem with backache, just left buttock ache :crybaby:

Sleepy Buttock is definitely one of the dangers of long distance travel

Maybe you should get her one of those vibrating seat cushions :naughty::lol:
