Has anyone had their car, Yaris Tspirit, broken in to because of the standard satnav fitment? Has anyone got ideas to guard against this? Is removal of the radio unit a diy job?

Has anyone had their car, Yaris Tspirit, broken in to because of the standard satnav fitment? Has anyone got ideas to guard against this? Is removal of the radio unit a diy job?

My bro-in-law has a t-spirit Yaris. The satnav unit is easily removable and to guard against those with less morals than us you should remove the unit from the fitment AND the car. Do not leave it in the glove box or under the seats.

You may well get your car broken into, but by taking the satnav unit with you you won't lose that!

My own thoughts are that fitting removable satnav's to the Yaris and Aygo is a retrograde step and should be complained about at every opportunity in the hope that Toyota go back to fitting non-stealable units!
