Good Morning Mentlegen,

Sounds like you have a very curable problem what which Toyota had a TSB/Official Fix for.

Where the air intake pipe passes through the wing bulkhead on its way to air filter box, it vibrates at a low frequency against said bulkhead, resembling a hole in yer exhaust or a poorly serviced Chinook Helicopter.

Cure consisted of some sound deadening tape judiciously positioned and prey hesto....noise gone. One or two members traced and cured the fault by themselves...nah...it's a design fault...get it fixed.

Go speak Mr. T and see if still doing under warranty. Great car, Deakin....just listen out for the odd noisy injector, which that era was a wee bit prone to. Ah loved mine......

Big Kev

I remember having the same problem years ago on an old Ford Escort. It worked out that the engine oil was to low and caused a rattle noise when under load going up hill with a few folks in the car. might be worth a look
