Help Needed Please.

Hi There,

My father in law is Japanese and has just given me his 10 year old Grand Hiace, it is in perfect condition and has 15k on the clock, he has owned it from new.

I have contacted a guy who will import it for me but my problem is the insurance, my insurer (aviva) dont have it on their lists and I cant find anyone else who will insure it.

It it is the v6 petrol model.

could this car have any other names it goes by ??? this is very important to me because if i cant insure it then I wont import it.

a quick look on autotrader shows that there are a few of them already in the UK, so i cant see why no one wants to insure you??

I had the same problems with my estima the day i bought it off my dad i rang my insurance and asked how much and was told its not on the data base well done the @@ cant mention who it is but you can guess. then i phoned my dads insurance company and asked them and they said the same not listed. so i then gave my dad details and guess what sorry its not on our system anymore even though he only cancelled it that morning so i went with b+bingley they had no probs with insurance just wait till its reg in this country and you get the v5 then give it a go i hope this helps
