Yaris Compressor Dead

Hello All,

My 07 Yaris 1.3 VVTi Auto suddenly started making a ringing/whirring noise when I started it yesterday. The noise keeps on coming unless there is a gear change. Low/High speed or cold/hot engine the noise never stops. As I had to get its 40k service anyway I booked it in for today at the Toyota main dealer. However I was told that the noise was coming as the air con compressor was dead. This was causing the rattling noise and I would need to get it changed at a cost of £1092! They would also check for any air leaks.

After regaining my consciousness, I got it checked at an independent dealer who also diagnosed the same problem - They said the compressor has seized. They said they would have a look however I think if I can arrange for one myself they could install it and it would be far cheaper than a grand. I have seen a spare compressor on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150595997054&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT) however I am not sure whether the whole number needs to match exactly for it to work.

My compressor has a sticker on it stating:

DENSO

5SER09C GE447260-1504

HFC134a ND-OIL8 11H 00572

DESIGN HIGH SIDE 3.35MPa

PRESS LOW SIDE 1.67MPa

The one I found on eBay has a sticker stating:

DENSO

5SER09C GE447260-1780

HFC134a ND-OIL8 07H 15071

DESIGN HIGH SIDE 3.35MPa

PRESS LOW SIDE 1.67MPa

Am I ordering the correct part? My car is basically standing in the parking as I have been told not to drive as it could lead to the belt breaking which would lead to the car coming to a standstill! I would greatly appreciate if someone could help/guide me. Many thanks in advance!

Any help anyone. I have now found the following part number: 5SER09C GE447260-1505 however mine ends with 1504. Anyone knows whether this will work before I purchase it from eBay? Thanks
