Aisin Ea08A04 - Hdd Audio/guidance For Avensis 2010

Hi all

I bought last year an Avensis 2.0 D4D (in Portugal we call it the Luxury Equipment Set - the one below the top one) with the HDD Audio/Navigation system that, according the manual, is an Aisin EA08A04. I ran all the search engines I know an nothing about this.

I would like to know if the HDD is actually an SSD (I guess it is - 40GB is a normal size for SSD's).

Also I would like to know if there are anty firmware upgrades for that: I have a set of requests to put it 110% namely a better DSP control option; a nicer portuguese female voice (mine is like a Sargent giving military orders;... Besides these, this system is top! I only wish to know more about it... and absolutly no info on it anywhere. UF!

Many thanks for all info.

Gonçalo

It is extremely hard to find any details on Toyota audio, I have the 2010 T4 model which is advertised as being an HDD with 10GB for music so I assume it is hard drive and not solid state but I really do not know the answer.

My steering wheel is leather.

You would probably need to speak to main dealer about software updates for information if any available.

Thanks for the answer.

In fact you should have the equivalent to mine in UK.

I already spoke with some technitians from several dealers and in fact, apart of the real need of being these guys doing the upgrades at the garage no one knows if there are any firmware upgrades or what so ever. TO be honest, the GPS works very well apart the tone of the portuguese female voice. The audio part should have, at least, a more complete EQ or DSP.

And there's also the doubt between a traditional HDD or a new SSD. The startup is too fast and too quiet to be a traditional HDD.

Also I'll love to know about the USB interface for that radio. The "traditional" ones are the 12 pin ones that don't fit any of the spare ones on the back of the frame. Looking with a dentist mirror throught the hole of the glove compartment we can see three small sockets - one of it should be the one to connect the USB option. I'm wandering about this because the one sold by Toyota I find it too expensive in relation to the ones in the market (the doble on some cases).
