I work for toyota and get parts at cost so don't think he could help can get it rebuilt at essex turbos but still £450 :-(

Parts for the garrett turbo basic rebuild excluding turbine cost me less than 50 quid. If yours is variable vanes sticking its a doddle to strip , clean and replace bearings etc just done mine. Only problem is balancing the unit,special equipment needed but if you live near a turbo rebuilders they will do a balance only at a fraction of the cost of a full reman turbo.Mine worked a treat after . One thing to watch for though is the dreaded snapping bolt, 3 went on me !

Thanks for the reply but mine has snaped the shaft and filled the engine up with oil bending the con rods :censor:

the turbo is mashed inside so it's US :rolleyes:
