Tyre Advice

Hi all

I have an 07 Avensis 2.0 D4D T2, which I recently got serviced and was found to have wear to two of the tyres to a tread depth of 2mm (front driver's and back passenger's). The other two tyres had depths of 6mm and 4mm for front passenger's and back driver's, respectively. I've done 47,000 miles and run on the standard bridgestones. Is it worth replacing only the two tyres that are significantly worn or buying a new set of four? And if I only replace two should I be swapping them around to have both new ones at the front or rear?

Cheers! :)

Hi,

If it was my car I would put 2 new tyres on the front & the 6mm (virtually new) & 4mm on the rear.

Seems odd that the 2 that need replaced are diagonally opposite but I guess that at 47000 miles this isn't your 1st tyre replacement.

I would say you only need to replace the 2 that are worn & put the others on the rear. You could try the kwik fit deal of buy 4 Bridgestones and only pay for 3. Have 2 fitted, lob the other 2 in the boot and get them fitted later when the next pair wear out.
