Central Locking Issues

Hey folks, hope you can help.

coupl;e of days ago the central locking simply didnt work. no locking or unlocking.

the inside security works, buts thats it.

the light on the key is red when you press the buttons.

please help us.

Not sure if you mean > cant even use the key to open up ? If you can i would forget about useing the fob any more so long as the alarm system is not disturbed and leave well alone

Thats what i do now, just use the key > If the key fob is acting up and the Battery is ok not sure you can buy them now any way?

If you really get into trouble with all this and you want to disable the system all together including the immoboliser, let me know as i have a proceedure that may do that very easily but have not got round to actully doing it myself cause the alarm has never given me any trouble yet!??? Leave well alone is my motto!

Hi there....

I had that on a Carina once, the unit in the car went out of sync with the key fob... (I'd parked the car under an electrity pylon!)

The local Mr T sorted it in about 5 minutes free of charge too!

well we do need the "fob" to work becuase the key to the door does nothing, as in it doesnt turn, which ive always though its just the feature as in "being fake".

i opened the fob and only saw its circuit board so to speak and the Battery nothign else.

could you give me a link to a Mr T's in the uk preferably wiltshire, becuase from my googling nothign is coming up for it. theres a mr clutch but thats it

hey everyone! what i know is that u can reset the fob by hold both buttons for at least 10 sec next to the car. try pressing the buttons, if the light does not flash or keep going on, u can open and clean the fob, just under the buttons there are the pins where u need to clean the gap with a needle. ive done it 3 years ago and still working, only changed the Battery couple of times.
