They are 6th Gen ST202's. If you buy one thats been looked after and not modified you wont get a lot of problems with them, they are well made cars.

The ST18X is the gen 5 - the previous model which has pop up headlights.

The ST202 is the 173Bhp Gen 6, the ST205 is the GT4 beast.

If you want the entry level model for insurance purposes - it's a 1.8l 7AFE engine - go for the the ST200 you have a choice of the ST or the SR (limited edition model).

I have an ST200, a silver SR model, which is available for the right price. If you're interested email me on ben.mellor@celica-club.co.uk. I'm the Gen6 mod on the celica-club.co.uk website - so I can assure you she's been well looked after.

Hi Nick, the ST182 Celica ran from 1990 ( G reg ) to 1993/94 ( L Reg ) the best way to tell is by the head light :-

Pop up Head lights ( 1990 onwards - Non turbo ) = ST182

Twin round head lights = ST202

If you still looking I have one for sale, please see the link below:-

http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13132

If you interested and want a picture to ensure this is the right model then please email me on marc.bartle@telewest.co.uk

Hope this helps

Thanks

Froston, the SR and ST models are a 1.8L engine.

The entire gen6 range was designated as T20x where X stood for the variant chracteristics.

hence on the UK market you had the following :

ST200 - Gen 6 Celica 1.8l - (either as SR (ins grp 13) or ST (ins grp 12))

ST202 - Gen 6 Celica 2.0l - GT (Ins grp 15)

ST205 - Gen 6 Celica Turbo'd 2.0l - GT4 (ins grp 17)

Dan, only selling the SR if I get the right offer - I need to look at reducing motoring costs as I want to buy a house - just want to get summat cheap to run around the country in for work and keep the GT for best still.

Toyota Celica 1.8ST,

It has 114 BHP, 0 - 60 in 10 secs, so its not the quickest car you can get for its insurance group, but I wouldnt change mine, not until i can get the Mitsu GTO.

Wheels are 5 x 100 pcd, same as all other generation Celica's.

Not the best car for getting adults in the back, but as you'll be driving no problem there, let the others suffer.

I would have thought you'll have a bit of trouble with insurance at 17, as i am being quoted ridiculous prices and im 20, no NCB admitadly.

Any way hope this helps some what,

BTW, they look awsome in black.

Cheers

not that slow - i got lasered at 97.7mph... believe me it surprises a few people, then i take them out in the Gt and surprise them even more !

I once had my 1.8 SR (ST but with bits on :) ) up to an indicated 130mph

They're not that slow, most of the time you're doing 0-30 or 0-40 and in that respect they're not too bad cos they pull well at only 1,500rpm (unlike my MR2 that has no power below 3000rpm).
