have got a kzn130 and when towing the caravan the gears dont engage properly and engine revving out and overheats to boiling point, does any one else have same problem and know what it is. gearbox is automatic

Hi Andrew,

If you're saying you have a manual gearbox: Then most probably the clutch is slipping: ie., replacement required.....gearbox out etc.

If we're talking automatic gearbox: Check the fluid level as per your owners handbook(different boxes = different procedures) If the levelis ok, then suggest you unhitch the caravan (!) & see an Auto-Box specialist.

I say clutch 100% auto has them too

Hi Andrew,

Check the transmission oil is at the correct level.

Engine running, and warm, move selector thru ALL gears

two or three times, then check level on dipstick, (engine still

running), and top up as required. BTW it should be blood red if

in good condition.if not change it. And fit an in line oilcooler

to the system, the oil is cooled by the radiator, so when the

box gets too hot it will make the water in the rad boil.

(NOT good for any Surf)

how often do you change an auto gear liquid?

i ppresume you have an issue of dirty oil or two electromagnetic valves are foulty belong to transmission cover.

any fault cods available? cheers/Igor
