Big Fright In My Auris

I bought a auris 2.0 D4d T- spirit (57plate) on Fri.

While driving home from work last night on a dual carrageway i noticed that I didn't seem to have any acceleration in 6th gear at 70mph, i thought i should be able to speed up by a couple of mile an hour. I tried to test if it would need a bit more from the accelrator and when i did it stuck. I couldn't get it up for ages and was speeding up and couldn't stop. I managed in the end to get my foot under it and yank it back. I have never been so scared in my life! Had i been at a roundabout I don't know what i would have done. I managed to pull over then call my partner. I didn't have any mats in place. I have been in touch with my local Toyota Garage and they think it should have been part of the recall and is going in to be looked at on Tues. Has anyone had any similar problems? I had been looking for this car for over 18months and now i'm terrified to drive it! Any advice and experinces welcome.

Thank you.

Let Toyota fix it and it will be fine.

Don't be scared of it, just learn to stay calm and do what is necessary to resolve the situation.

Good luck.

If you bought the car from a Toyota dealer and you dont feel happy with this now you can always return the car for a full refund but if you are happy just let Toyota fix it and you will be fine

I didn't buy it from a Toyota Dealer it was from a car supermarket and is still under thier warranty, however, toyota said they will fix it because it should have been recalled. I have just read things about the problem still occuring after the recall, just want to be sure i won't ever have the same problem. Thanks
