Front Brake Pads

Hi Guys

Have changed front ones by 59k kms (yesterday), but a rear ones still wish to serve around 15k more till the next service.

What are your observations about life time there?

Hello Big Buddy in the East,

Just adopt the old saying "if it's not broken, don't fix it". Knowing the engineer that you are, you will make a sound judgement on whether or not to change your pads now, or later, in turn helping the cash flow situation. It is indeed well covered in Redlew's posting / Link, and if your discs and pads are NOT the type that rub off and deposit on the discs, leave alone and do later.

I elected to do mine at 19k MILES, and the improvement well worth it in braking "feel" and clean discs...sorry if 2 subjects covered.

OK I ve measured a gap between disc/s and steel wear sensor -- it was 2.0 mm -- I did not want to risk and drive more.

Yes -- this wording ("if it's not broken, don't fix it") is an actual here, as well.
