New Toyota Prius T Spirit

I have just brought a new toyota prius t spirit and i must say what a great car.

Trouble is it is spoilt by the cheap number plates that have been put on it, thin flaps in wind and poor quality for a car of this price. Also car mats i think are poor quality with thin foam on the back that has been ripped because who ever fitted then just riped the stapples apart that was holding them together.

When i got the car home i notice a bit of trim under rear bumper was not clipped in properly but by luck i hit it with my hand and it went back. I also found a packet in glove compartment with two black bungs in it and a statment on packaging saying insert in to holes under car by back wheels before delivery to customer so what with the trim not cliped in properly i feel it was a poor pre inspection and prep before handing over to customer (myself) I am thinking of sending e-mail to ceo Jon Williams of toyota as having spent £24000 plus to have things like that happen which are small niggles i must admit is just not acceptable.

Don't tell US 'periuk' tell your dealer first - copy out your intended e-mail - visit them and BANG it on the service counter, and demand an immediate explanation.

[if you don't do this, be prepared for a contact within about a week asking for your comments on their wonderful service. My advice is pre-empt.]

I wish I could quote an adequate British expression but I'm afraid the American one of "KICK *****" is so.. appropriate.

If this experience is unacceptable then contact the main TOYOTA website @ :--

When you have done one of the above - please advise us of your Toyota Experience.

Oh! just to turn the screw a bit more ask them "What oil they will put in your engine when your first oil change is due?"

Thanks for your reply. I am really happy with the car as i said and think its a shame that it is spoilt by the little niggles that i have mentioned.

thanks for your hints and advice I will post the results of the outcome in due course.

I have been told I will be contacted by the dealer and by Toyota to say if i am completely satisfied and it has been stressed to me that only completely satisfied will do on the survey well I have to say i am satisfied but not completely lol

I strongly recommend you go back to your dealer and tell them your problems. The salesman who sold us our Prius T Spirit in March was very keen that we were completely satisfied. I have Prius car mats and they seem OK to me. Are yours genuine Prius mats? Hope you get it sorted as you say it is not good enough especially for a £24,000 car.

You dealer did the PDI on the car NOT Jon Williams, it is the dealers responsibility to sort the car out before you get delivery and it is the dealer you bought the car off that you have a contract with, I suggest you visit the sales manager to discuss the shoddy workmanship and get an explanation off him. Have the mats exchanged, be firm but polite, if the sales manager fobs you off make an appointment with the Dealer Principle

There is nothing you can do with the number plates, they are all made to a British Standard, they dont vary, it's how they are I'm afraid

Kingo

Odd about the car mats! Mine are genuine Toyota Prius mats are and really nice quality ones and thick too. I havn't looked underneath as I don't really care what the underside looks like frankly.

........ I also found a packet in glove compartment with two black bungs in it and a statment on packaging saying insert in to holes under car by back wheels before delivery to customer .................

I found the same thing when I bought my six month old ex-demo car. I went back to the dealer and they were popped into the holes with no trouble. The service manager said that the holes are used to anchor the cars during shipping. I was worried that water may have got into somewhere it shouldn't, but he assured me that driving without them would not have damaged the car in any way - makes me wonder why they're there in that case.
