Avensis Satnav

I have just bought a ne Avensis with built in satnav

I have previously used my tom-tom which was excellent ,but I just can't get my head around the Toyota offering

It seems to take me some odd ways to places

What do other owners think?

Have you got the settings set ? You can set it up to miss toll roads ect.

I love mine, been to France twice with it now and find it superb, I have a TomTom also so can do comparisons.

The interface on the TomTom is slightly easier or I am more used to it?

The car system is quicker and you don't need to stick the paper clip in it when it freezes or fails to compile a route.

occasionally I don't agree with it but that's usually because I know some minor road/rat run etc. & it's obviously programmed to stick to more mainstream routes.

It'll get you there in the end though.

My sat nav freezes during and between trips and when i start car sometimes it refuses to load up,,,the screen reads unable to read DVD rom see if ce is damaged or dirty.

My 08 Avensis is still under manufacturers warranty, is it covered?
