Lucida Gearbox Problems

Hi, i'm looking for a bit of help on our lucida. took it in to have 2 new tires and the tracking done at the same time as it was badly out, that was great drives a dream now but then on the trip home the gearbox started playing up. Sods law fix one thing another starts.

Anyway, basically the problems were having is it gets up to about 30-35mph then wont change up, just revs out for a little while and will eventually change and be fine, also putting it into reverse....it seems like something is holding it from moving then all of a sudden will shoot back.

Is this a problem with the torque converter or gearbox or is it possibly a transmission fluid problem?

The car is an imported 2.2l TD 4x4 auto lucida, we have had it for 2 and a half years now and the gearbox oil has not been changed while we have had it. i checked it before i read on the net 5 minutes ago that it has to be checked with the engine running etc, i didnt take much notice of the oil colour either but pretty sure it was a light brown rather than a nice red.

Any help is greatly appriciated.

Have you driven through water. If not check your fluid you have 2 marks at the bottom and 2 marks at the top, check that the fluid is at the 2nd mark at the top.
