01 Camry Stalling, No Prob. Restatring could be electrical/have to reset radio-clock #1 verk07

New Member

Have 01 Camry, 4 cylinders. 110K miles. No major problems yet.

The other morning went to start car, noticed the radio-clock needed to be reset.

No other problem for days.

Then I was slowing down at light, car died (no bucking, no idle problems, no stuttering, no black smoke).

Just a gentle, quiet death. No problems restarting.

Did have to reset the radio and clock.

It happend again when pulling out of a parking area.

Since it was a rainy day and I was close to my son's house. I left vehicle there.

I have driven it since, without any problems.

Any ideas?

Could it be the Air recurcilation connectio ( button sticks and I have disengaged it)

Well, it's not the receurcilation button.

But it is a voltage problem.

The other morning I got in the car, it started w/o problems but I did have to reset the radio and clock.

It has not recurred.

When the camry ecm malfunctions the vehicle will not start and the transmission will begin to shift very hard between 1st gear and second gear. There is an outlet in Michigan that handles repairing 2002 camry engine computers. The website is Ecm Outlet and they can fix just about any camry ecu/ ecm. Jeff Mckee is the guy who handled my order. My 2002 camry would not shift into second gear but they fixed it and now its working like new.
