Steering Problems Help Please

hi i need help please.i was driving my rav4 2 litre diesel hit a bump in the road not a big bump but a bump and the steering went all stiff a was pulling me all over the road i drove around a roundabout hear a banging coming from the front. 5 min later its fine again could this be the diff??? any ideas please

If it went back to normal after five minutes and the banging stopped too, chances are the pedestrian you hit has fallen out...........

Seriously though, I would have steering and suspension checked ASAP

Power steering ??? Its a bit odd as it went back to normal. As Davrav says, best to get the front end checked.
