I have a 95 Tacoma. It makes an intermittent metallic screeching sound upon deceleration. Sounds like it’s coming from the rear of the truck but I haven’t been able to isolate it. It will make the sound between shifts when I let off the accelerator and even on the highway with the cruise control on, appearing whenever the engine is decelerating and goes away when the load comes back. It has been doing this for years but more common lately. Seems to be more prevalent in cold weather. In years past it would happen for a couple weeks and then go away. This winter it has been steady for a couple of months. It will make the sound with or without the clutch depressed ( I can be coasting with the clutch depressed). My guess is that it is suspension related because the sound seems to change with road vibrations.
