Avensis Colour Code

I'm sure this is a fairly daft question (or has a fairly simple answer) but where do I find the colour code for my 56reg Avensis estate? The paperwork says silver, but I can't figure out where the actual code is to get the right silver. On the passenger door & under the bonnet there is a 17 character chassis code starting SB1ED56L & underneath that is 370 but looking under the bonnet I can't find a larger set of codes, just that code in a number of places. Whereas my last avensis verso was pretty obvious under the bonnet, the avensis estate has a plastic covering that makes it hard to see much anyway

Am I going mad?

Thanks

Hi mate, a friend of mine who sprays cars said the one on the passenger side door pillar is all you will need to get the correct paint, he actually mixes directly from that code as he does small repairs at customers homes and it needs to be spot on to match existing paintwork. You may know this but modern cars are clear laquer over base colour so something out of a spray can won't really do the job correctly, franchised companies like Revive or ChipsAway are cheaper than a bodyshop for small repairs.

Pete.

Not going totally mad - had another look on the passenger door & still couldn't see anything other than the chassis number, but then as I turned to shut t, I spotted it on the main chassis!! So basically had my back to it previously scrabbling round on the ground looking all over the door.

It's only the rear bumper that has a scuff, just taken the paint off rather than any damage & seems a waste of time & money to get the whole bumper resprayed when a touch up aerosol may do an ok job
