Front Brakes

Hi

Has anyone got a good clear picture of the front brake assembly of a Mr2 roadster. I have been trying to help out a friend who has had problems with the front brakes, or lack off. There are no anti- seize shims on the backs of the pads and it looks like the anti rattle guides which go on in to the caliper are the wrong way round? Top fitted to bottom and vice versa. It's also unclear if the wear indicator is meant to be on the inside pad, or outside pad. To me it's usually on the inside, but the pads removed, they were on the outside??

I've looked at the front brake guide/pictures but can't really make out where the pad with the wear indicator would be.

Are there any pdf's available

Any help appreciated

Hi and welcome to the club

Wear indicators go to the outside

Les

Thanks Les

I've done rakes of brakes before on various cars but never seen discs in the state these were in. Hence the reason i was looking for clarification before I get the new parts and refit them. Does new MR2 front pads come with the anti seize shims for the backs or are they likely to be a seperate purchase from MrT? Pads removed didn't have them

Cheers

Jas

I got Greenstuff pads for mine and they come with a stick on shim but I would just put a smear of copper grease on them if you don't have any, they can't have been squealing before you removed them so they weren't that necessary ;)

I've just bought some shiny, and black, OEM shims. About 22 quid.

Also sent you a PM, Oilkid.

Wear indicator pads go on the inside with the indicator at the bottom.
