Rear Wiper Not Working

Need Help!! Just tried to use the rear wiper on my 2007 Auris, and the blade does not move properly. I can feel the blade unit trying to move internally but the blade stays where it is. When I move the wiper blade it just rotates in place (a full 180 degrees) as if the internal linkage is broken. Has anyone got any ideas on how to fix it, or what is wrong.

Thanks

Well going for the simple thing first, have you checked to see if the arm securing nut is tight?

How do we get to that then?? I can't see any nut onthe external wiper, it looks like a push fit...

There is a small clip-on cover on top of the wiper where the wiper is attached to the car. It's same black plastic as the top of the wiper so it's hard to notice. But you need to remove it to see the nut. The nut is being used to attach the wiper arm to the car...
