hi does anyone have the head torque settings and the valve clearances for a 1995 1.8 celica coupe i cannot get a manual locally and i need to do my head as the valve seals are gone please please please help

right got the head off done the valves and changed the valve seals has anyone got any ideas on the torque setting on the head thanks

Hi,try as suggested and do a search on the celica forum,or ask the question on that forum.

when on forum page scroll down to the celica forum. its not hard.

at the top of the introduction section you are asked not to ask for advice when introducing yourself.its written in large red letters.dont blame other members for not getting a reply.

im surprised no-one has answered yet. I dont know, but I cant imagine its much different from the 2.0L motor. Your local garage will be able to tell you. I have heard its important to get new head bolts.

No offence dude but the reason nobody has replied with the settings is because nobody probably has them and i cant think of anyone who has ever bothered trying to fix a 1.8 celica. They are so cheap now that if you have any issues with it you bin it or at least replace the whole engine.

We dont get paid to answer your questions, we dont sit around watching the website waiting for people like you to post these things up and personally if i did have the settings i wouldnt have given them out to you now anyway as your attitude stinks. If i was still a moderator i'd probably have already banned you...

Not really sure of the setting but aim for 30Nm, then 1/4 turn and then a further 1/4 turn. Of course I mean in spiral rotation starting at the inside working out.

I can't find my Carina E Haynes manual (Carina E also uses 7A-FE engine) but I'm sure it's about that.

This is assuming you mean Head to Block. Cam cover is just nipped tight.

Well he´s right. The response on this forum is SLOW most of the times. Don´t know if the Scooby guys still have scoobynet, but the response over there used to be ultra quick most of the times. Don´t think they were paid to sit around and wait for questions.
