I have just bought an IQ2 with smart start and if I stall it it takes ages for the green light to show before I can restart it, has anybody else come across this problem?

I got an IQ2 with smart start and if it stalls, it seems to start with no problem.

Have you tried releasing the clutch and pressing it again when starting?

if yours is anything like my auris smart start, then it took a while to sort out a restart.what i do now if i should stall is (yes i know one should not)is press start button to turn of ignition, then depress clutch pedal (all the way) then press button to start engine again.

So-called smart-start is anything but when you stall and a thumping huge truck is bearing down on you. Trust me, I've been there and it's an unpleasant experience. The leather seats in ours are too slippery by far. There were even more so that day and I questioned myself did I dump in my pants when the start failed to react instantly. You can turn it off though and in busy traffic we do.
