C/ Verso T180 2.2D Cat

I am new to this and have read some great stuff so i joined up.

My T180 where do i start! EGR failure has totalled the engine , Toyota GB fixed all for free and if anyone has some problem just push it ring them and they will agree eventually to do all even out of warranty.

Engine rebuild later the car now has a fuel injection problem. Can anyone tell me if the egr will have this effect on the injection system???? If so i will push for a foc fix too.

Toyota has not announced but of interest have upgraded thier DPF to allow normal everyday use instead of a high revving motorway blast thats needed to generate the heat to work efficiently. Really good news as all of us have this on our deisels and we will expect problems well before 100k.

How old was your car when this happened, Super? Our 140 had a new set of injectors at a year old, apparently because of an EGR problem - and this despite regular high-speed use. That was two years ago and it has been fine since then.

When you say all diesels, I don't think (although it's hard to find it documented) that the 2.2 140 engine has a DPF, at least in 2008 when ours was made. Best of luck with yours.

Nice one superchukka - I got my T180 back a fortnight ago for its second engine replacement (Toyota didn't go into the details). They changed it at Christmas already, both for free. Seems to have worked, I'm getting much better mpg now and no red arrows. I've just read your post above and I reckon it's the same thing.
